Mark infuses his subjects with an inner light, allowing their personalities to shine from the canvas and inviting viewers into the characters’ imaginary worlds.

He was a finalist in the 2004, 2006, and 2008 biennial New Zealand Portrait Gallery Awards, as well as the 2003 Wallace Art Awards. In February 2004, he was invited to hold a solo exhibition at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London.
